N2 - This paper is devoted to analysing the possibilities of Role and Reference Grammar (RRG) to promote the interdisciplinary research development within Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). We use an example of the conflict over the opening of the inclusive education program at one of St. Petersburg's secondary schools. Using Role and Reference Grammar, we show that the use of different verb types and macroroles has led to the different descriptions of the situation. In result we draw the conclusion that RRG could promote the increase of objectivity of the analysis of transcripts in qualitative social research. RRG provides new information which in combination with other methods can help us to understand the positioning of participants in a conflict situation.
