Histochemical activity of the mitochondrial enzyme cytochrome oxidase (CO) in auditory and non-auditory structures of rat midbrain was studied after exposure to low electromagnetic field (EMF). An increase of the enzyme activity was shown in several midbrain structures of the experimental animals.
