We address high-frequency diffraction of a plane wave by a contour having a jump of curvature, aiming at explicit constructing of asymptotic formulas. In contrast to earlier research based on the Kirchhoff method, we apply a rigorous version of the boundary layer approach. Expressions for diffracted wave and wavefield in transition zone are presented.
