An experimental unit for comprehensive investigation of heterogeneous reactions of ozone is described which uses adsorption photometry, manometry, thermal desorption spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. The coefficients of the heterogeneous decomposition of ozone were determined for fused quartz and stainless steel. The stainless steel surface is passivated during the reaction by the formation of a layer of adsorbed oxygen.
