N2 - The problem of synchronization (entrainment, capture) of trajectories of nonlinear oscillatory system driven by an external periodic signal is reconsidered. Frequency-domain conditions of global synchronization (capture) are established extending earlier results (dealing with harmonic excitation) to the case when the external excitation possesses a filtered strongly oscillatory signal (FSOS) property. Particularly, it may be a multiharmonic signal, i.e. the sum of a finite number of harmonics with incommensurable frequencies. Applications of the results for feedforward control of chaos and secure communications are discussed.
