*[The socially-parasitic ant genus Strongylognathus is reported for Afghanistan for the first time, & a new species, S. kabakovi, is described based on the single queen. It belongs to the huberi species-group & is characterized by the small size. It differs from the latter species by the distinctly concave occipital margin, by the fines body sculpture, & by the less developed standing pilosity on the body.]
