The effect of the current pulse motion with a velocity greater than the velocity of light and the resulting radiation were studied in this work. A component of the electromagnetic field was calculated in the linear current model. The method used may be helpful for studying directional electromagnetic waves in nuclear-physics detectors, in particular for taking into account contributions from secondary electrons to the Vavilov-Cherenkov effect.
