RAIR spectra of liquid and crystalline hexafluoroethane were recorded in the temperature range 100–200 K. The ν 5 and ν 10 reflection bands had been normalized and used to obtain their extinction profiles. New normalizing method outlined in this paper. The integral absorption coefficients had been determined at each phase and compared with literature data. The contours obtained have asymmetrical and broad profiles with enhanced low frequency branch (TO-branch). The structures of these contours were explained in framework of resonance dipole-dipole (RDD) interaction. The mathematical apparatus of spectral moments were used to describe profiles of the bands studied.
