Within the framework of collisionless motion of particles in a self-consistent electric field, the authors solve problems involving separation of a plane layer, a circular cylinder, and a sphere consisting of point charged particles, in both the nonrelativistic approximation and in the case of relativistic velocities, for arbitrary initial particle concentration. It is shown that a laminar nature of motion is ensured, in the case of separation of layer, by the velocity profile being initially monotonic; and, in the case of separation of a cylinder and sphere from the rest state, by the electric field strength being monotonic at the initial instant.
