N2 - This paper examines the stress-strain state of a pipeline inspection window made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). Two cases are considered: without a defect in the thickness of the body under consideration; taking into account a small defect near the inner wall. The problem reduces to the Lamé problem, taking into account the physical nonlinearity of the material. Analytical estimates of the principal stresses in a cylindrical coordinate system for a defect-free body are given. Based on the obtained estimates, a numerical solution to a similar problem was verified using COMSOL Multiphysics. The problem of the influence of a defect on the stress-strain state of a body was solved numerically, taking into account the physical nonlinearity of the material, and the dependence of the safety factor on the position of the spherical cavity was shown.
