abstract = "According to most researchers of the West Siberian basin the Tyumen formation contains great oil reserves not involved in the development. This fact is explained by several reasons: the local reservoir distribution and the lateral variability. Therefore, the industrial development requires solving the problem of detailed facies zonation and determination the methods for prediction the most interesting zones. The relevance of the study is associated with necessity of discovering the new objects within the developed deposits. The article describes the results obtained in the study of the structure of the Tyumen formation in the Noyabrsk region of West Siberian basin. The application of modern approaches analysis of the wave field allowed to identify and delineate the paleochannel system causing the transportation of sedimentary material. Integration the results of the wave field analysis with well data, logs and the core material, enabled to obtain a detailed map reflecting the most promising areas for further investigation of the Tyumen formation. The obtained result can be used for planning of exploration drilling, as well as to substantiate the necessity of the deepening of the pilot wells with the aim of raising the level of knowledge about the Tyumen formation. The studied territory is about 180000 km2 and it is limited to the area of Gazprom Neft operation in Noyabrsk region.",
