EHD flow through a transfer channel is described. Three bars have been selected as electrodes, one negative at the center and two positive on both sides. The experiment was performed with the aid of markers for visual tracking, namely fine air bubbles approximately 0. 01 mm in diameter injected into the fluid and photographed while moving in the stream. This technique made it possible to analyze the kinematics of the EHD converter. The use of bar electrodes simplified the problem, by virtue of the two-dimensionality of the flow structure in such a system. The study was made with mixtures of transformer oil and butyl alcohol.
