Results are presented of an experimental study pertaining to EHD flow in a system with ″wire-wire″ electrodes. The main experiments were performed in a vessel made of acrylic glass. In a similar vessel, but with through passage, was studied the development of straight-through flow. The study reveals that the decisive role in EHD dynamics is played not by the geometrical characteristics of the electrodes but by the ion content in the medium and the nature of electron-ion exchange at the electrode.
