N2 - We studied the effect of intranasal administration of oxytocine (OT) and thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) solutions on the changes in behavior of rats, induced by mild social stress. In our experiments we used white Wistar male rats (n = 100). Oxytocine solution (0.25 IU) was administered intranasally in a volume of 20 mcl to the rats of the experimental group 1. In the experimental group 2 we used TRH-solution (10-10 mmol) in the same volume. In the control group we administered normal saline 15 minutes before social stress. One hour later animals were placed back to their "home cages". Three hours later rats were tested in the elevated plus-maze. We found out that OT-administration, but not TRH caused the decrease of the anxiety level after social stress.
