N2 - The results of an investigation of the anisotropy of the elastic properties of strained elastomers and the dependence of the contact angle on the size of the drop have been presented. The value of the effective line tension appearing during the wetting of elastomers has been evaluated. Among other results, the experimental evidence confirms the validity of the idea underlying the theory of the wetting of deformable bodies and the explanation following from them for the anisotropy of the contact angle as a fundamentally new phenomenon in the physical chemistry of wetting.
