The article is devoted to the problem of analyzing the narrative in the journalistic film text. Specific tasks of
narrative analysis of a documentary film are defined, the significance of narrative figures that determine the nature of
interaction of a semanticized video sequence with a verbal narrative, methods and techniques for synthesizing verbal and
mimetic narratives, ways of narrativizing the “background” image, as well as anarrative speech acts is substantiated.
