N2 - A switch to distance learning resulting from a pandemic spread of coronavirus COVID-19 raised a whole range of problems related to the organization of remote learning and teaching with technologies, evaluation of the available personnel and technical resources at a particular university and incorporating the existing online courses and educational technologies and services provided by other organisations. The necessity to realize the transfer in the shortest possible time caused the confusion at the beginning, revealed the lack of readiness of educators to provide clear instructions, information and technical support. For teachers and students, online education in place of the traditional one opened new perspectives as well as set enough challenges, which will be overviewed in this paper.
