N2 - An improved method is proposed for synthesizing the solid electrolyte Ag//3SI. A sectioning technique was used for the first time in studying the diffusion of silver as **1**1**0**mAg and to measure the ionic conductivities of its beta and alpha modifications over a temperature range of 20 EN DASH 500 degree C. Correlation factors were calculated and a mechanism suggested for ionic transport in Ag//3SI.
