N2 - Developing language sensitivity is one of the learning goals of the “Language of Professional Communication” course for master program students at the GSOM, SPSU. The paper aims to explain the concept of “language sensitivity” and to identify skills, which language-sensitive business communicators need to develop. The paper raises the question of the necessity to specify an appropriate instrument to measure the development of language sensitivity of students. We argue that interdisciplinary communicative competence can be a solution. The case study of the communication course “Language of Professional Communication” for GSOM master program students includes the analysis of the preliminary results of the development of language sensitivity by means of interdisciplinary communicative competence.
