A possibility of occurrence of delayed nuclear fission is shown. Boundaries of nucleon stability nuclear regions where this phenomenon can be observed are estimated. Neutron-rich nuclei which can form effectively in the rapid neutron capture process constitute a large region of delayed fission and that is why the phenomenon under study is of some interest not only for nuclear physics, but also for astrophysics.
