This article is devoted to the description of instrumental competence, which is understood as the skills necessary for foreign students to use the resources of corpus linguistics to solve linguistic problems. The author substantiates the necessity of using corpus linguistics technology in teaching English grammar to foreign students, emphasizing several advantages and giving specific examples of the implementation of the corpus approach to teaching grammar.
