Biogeographic zoning of the World Ocean is traditionally appeared a biotic one and based on distinguishing unique fauna and flora complexes by means of a projection of propagation of families, genuses, species etc. of plants and animals on a geographic background, i.e. on that part of a water area, within the limits of which there meets a population of the given genera. The elaboration of a comprehensive approach to zoning of marine biota guesses taking in consideration of complex as biological so historical, ecological and physico-geographic factors, as is substantiated in the present publication.
