The discussed paper reviewed the experimental results on the generation of the ion–ion plasmas created in weakly magnetized electronegative plasmas in the active phase of self-sustained discharge. The conclusion that the plasma is an ion–ion plasma, is based in the paper on the high measured values of electronegativity. However, the facts of realization of the stationary ion–ion plasma are questionable because the plasma can not be considered as an ion–ion plasma while the negative ions are trapped in the plasma volume, even at very high electronegativity. So, the conclusions about experimental creation of stationary ion–ion plasma in the weakly magnetized electronegative plasmas seem unconvincing and are questioned in this comment.
