Problems related to ionization processes by heavy particle thermal collisions and to the role of these processes under conditions of low-temperature plasma, where potential energy, stored in atom and molecule excited states, may by several orders exceed the electron gas energy, are considered. Concrete examples, characterizing the role of chemoionization processes in the kinetics of non-equilibrium low-temperature plasma with ionization and recombination inhomogeneities, are quoted. Attention is paid to the fact, that application of literature data on chemoionization constants under low-temperature plasma conditions requires in all cases preliminary analysis.
