The glass formation regions are determined in the GeS2-Ga2S3-MCl [where M = Li, (Na), K, Rb, Cs, (Ag), and (Tl)] and Ga-I-NaCl systems. The DTA data are obtained for the Ga2S3-MCl systems. The Raman spectra of the GeS2, 0.67GeS2 · 0.33GaS1.5, and RbGaS1.5Cl glasses are measured. The experimental data are discussed with due regard for the high complexing ability of gallium ions and the formation of the [GaS3/2Cl]- complex anions. It is noted that the formation of complex structural units is favorable for increasing the glass formation regions in the studied systems.
