N2 - Telemedicine, in the common understanding of the term, is the remote delivery of healthcare services using information technology. Despite advances in digital communications over the past decades, not least due to the advent of the internet, the integration of telemedicine into the structure of the global healthcare market has remained relatively limited. However, the global public health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the downturn in the world economy caused by a series of lockdowns have accelerated the process of introducing telemedicine into the structure of the global health care market, increased the amount of research in this area, and increased financial (industry public and private) investment in the technology under consideration.
