A television camera is used as an image converter in the recording apparatus described. The apparatus can be used with any computer. The frame format is 512 × 256 pixels, the resolution is 64 brightness gradations, and the frame-recording time is 20 msec. The software is written for operation in the RAFOS operating system for Elektronika-60 microcomputers. The system has been used successfully in solid-surface diagnosis by methods of slow-electron diffraction and field-emission microscopy.
