The paper analyses the situation which one of the main geographical notions "region" as applied to Asia-Pacific region. The authors discuss basic regionalistic categories ("regional-geospacial attitude", "process of regionalization" etc.) and the methodological principles of regional inverstigation from the position of the geospacial self-organization of society. The analysis carried out by the authors suggests that the part of geospace called Asia-Pacific region is not a unified region in reality, but a "constellation", a complex, consisting of different regions.
