Apparatus for determining the absolute intensity of the light scattered by a liquid using a method which eliminates the need for a correction for refraction of the scattered ray when it emerges from the cuvette (C//n) and by the actual scattering volume (C//V) is described. The measuring system consists of three polarization prisms. The light fluxes are recorded photoelectrically. The results obtained for the scattering coefficient of benzene and chloroform are in good agreement with the data given in the literature.
