N2 - A sensitivity to amplitude modulation was studied in persons with normal hearing and in patients with peripheric hearing disorders in a wide range of modulation frequencies. It was shown that in persons with normal hearing there is an area of selective sensitivity in modulation frequencies 4-8 cps in contrast with patients with impaired hearing. Amplitude modulation thresholds depend on the patient's training. suprathreshold level of signal and the presence of loudness recruitment phenomenon.
