The International Symposium „Climate Change in Agriculture and Adaptation Options“, June
22-23 2009, was hosted by the University of Natural Ressources and Applied Life Sciences
Vienna (BOKU), Institute of Meteorology (BOKU-Met) and supported by the EU-projects ADAGIO and CECILIA, the COST action COST734 and World Meteorological Organization (WMO). It was held in the frame of the last general meeting of the EU project ADAGIO
(ADAPTATION OF AGRICULTURE IN EUROPEAN REGIONS AT ENVIRONMENTAL RISK UNDER CLIMATE CHANGE, Specific Support Action, FP6). The aim of the project was to
evaluate and disseminate potential adaptation measures to climatic change in agriculture,
considering 3 main vulnerable regions of Europe (Southern Europe and Mediterrranean
Area, Middle Europe and Eastern Europe) in cooperation with 11 Partners (Austria, Spain,
Bulgaria, Serbia, Czech Republic, Poland, Greece, Italy, Russia, Egypt, Romania).
