This paper examines the acquisition of number and case in four monolingual Russian-speaking children on an extended amount of longitudinal data. Our threefold aimis (a) to trace the emergence and development of case and number oppositions from the onset of noun production, (b) to establish developmental phases and to define the criteria of the transition between them, and (c) to account for the mechanisms of case and number acquisition.
