One of the most important issues in everyone’s life is the question of professional self-determination. The problem of creating approaches that allow to comprehensively take into account both personal characteristics of an individual and the strength of the influence of various factors on the choice of a profession is topical. The aim of the article is to investigate interrelations between the results of the Holland test and factors influencing the choice of profession in groups of respondents with/without a desire to change their profession. The research methods are based on statistical hypothesis testing. The significance of the study lies in laying the foundation for the subsequent development of an expert system aimed at assisting in career choice issues, and making it more accessible to citizens.
