A thermodynamic theory of surface separation has been formulated for mixtures of both inert and chemically interacting substances. The behaviour of the surface separation lines in the vicinity of singular points in concentration diagrams has been investigated. As an example, the behaviour of the foam separation lines in dilute three- and four-component solutions has been considered. The possibility of classification of systems by means of a thermodynamic-topological rule has been exhibited.
