The functional for the problem on a rectangular moving reservoir with elastic element partly filled by the ideal incompressible fluid is given. It generalize the Bateman-Luke functional for the solid reservoir. After making variation of the functional the differential equations of the problem are obtained including kinematic and dynamic boundary conditions.
