Two methods for description of the effects of propagation through a quasi-random spatial distribution of the electron density in the ionosphere are further tried. The special case of propagation of a high frequency wave field in the direction of strongly elongated random inhomogeneities is considered. Comparison of the results of solving the same propagation problem employing different techniques is performed, and the range of validity is discussed.
