We studied the effect of AEDG peptide on the telomere length and mitotic index of PHA-stimulated blood lymphocytes of young (18-22 years of age, n=5) and middle-age (49-54 years of age, n=6) men. In young men, no changes of mitotic index were registered upon AEDG treatment. In middle-age men, one case of mitotic index decrease was found. The relative length of telomeric regions was measured on metaphase chromosomes after fluorescence in situ hybridization with DNA probes specific to telomeres. After AEDG treatment, significant changes of telomere length were detected in 7 out of 11 cases: in three young and four middle-age men. The significant increase in the telomere length was registered in 5 cases - by 41% and by 55% in two young men and by 156%, 18% and 76% in three middle-age men. The significant decrease in the telomere length was registered in 2 cases - by 37% in one young man and by 15% in one middle-age man. A tendency of telomere normalization upon AEDG treatment was observed. In the individuals wit
