The article attempts to identify the ethnolinguistically marked units in the rock texts of Spanish musical groups of 60-70’s of the last century, the number of which only according to official sources is considered to be more than 900, which indicates the popularity of the genre and the relatively loyal attitude of the authorities to this phenomenon of youth subculture. The article focuses on the following issues: the dynamics of the socially marked content of Spanish rock poetry from completely apolitical texts to texts that are characterized by topicality, political sharpness, focus on the real problems of everyday life, the author's attitude to what is happening in modern society; the coexistence of the genres of "rock ballads" and "author's song" as a form of protest lyrics; language policy under the dictatorship of F. Franco and the author's self-expression of rock bands that performed cover versions of the world hits and their own songs in the minority languages of Spain.
