The goal of the current study is to explore the influence of delay discounting parameters on the incidence of relapse in patients with alcohol use disorder (AUD). In the article, we analyzed the data of the 45 study participants (31(69%) men, average age 42.0±8.2 y.o., average duration of AUD 12.0±9.4 years), who have undergone detoxification treatment due to AUD and the follow-up interview 3 months post-treatment. The results indicate that the delay discounting parameters do not directly predict the relapse. The relapse was significantly predicted by the scale “Awareness” from SOCRATES (z=1.84, p=0.07) and participants’ age (z=-1.96, p=0.05). In addition, the scale “Awareness” and the age increased the effect of delay discounting on the incidence of relapse to the significant level (z=2.08. p=0.04).
