The influence of high-strain rate compression on the one-way and two-way shape memory effects in the TiNi alloy is studied. It is shown that high-strain rate compression leads to improvement of functional properties. The value of the one-way shape memory effect and two-way shape memory effect of martensitic type after high-strain rate compression in the temperature range from 20 to 60 °C is higher than after quasi-static compression. The value of two-way shape memory effect of austenitic type after high-strain rate compression is always more than after quasi-static compression. Comparison with tensile tests done before is given in the paper. It is shown earlier that high-strain rate tension does not lead to improvement of functional properties.
