Exemplified by views of the prominent right public figures at the beginning of the 29th century, the process of degradation of monarchist philosophy of life which was felt in the conservative environment on the eve of revolutionary events of 1917 is shown and analyzed. Through analysis of private opinions and showdowns of such prominent conservative politicians as P. N. Durnovo, B. V. Nikolsky, L. A. Tikhomirov, V. M. Purishkevich, A. I. Dubrovin and others, the author of the report shows how much sometimes the public declarations of the right-wingers about complete devotion to the autocratic regime and assurances on deep veneration of the last Russian emperor were at variance with the things they mentioned in private conversations and what was trusted to private letters and diarized. The publication shows through specific examples how the monarchist consciousness of some advocates of the autocratic regime was twisted resulting in one of by no means unimportant reasons of dismantlement of the czarist rule.
