The report is devoted to the analysis of Z. Livaneli’s novel “Disquiet” (“Huzursuzluk”) in comparison with the novel by O. Pamuk “Snow” (“Kar”). Z. Livaneli’s novel at first sight is a continuation of a political novel tradition in Turkish literature, whose vivid representative is O. Pamuk’s novel “Snow”. Nevertheless, despite the similarity of some plot elements, Livaneli's novel demonstrates the main difference: the fictional Pamuk’s plot is replaced by a presentation of real events with a little artistic processing. New techniques of presentation allow us to talk about possible trends in the formation of a new genre in contemporary Turkish literature.
