This article examines the life and work of the well-known historian, member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences, Professor of the Department of Modern and Contemporary History of the Institute of History of St. Petersburg State University Valery Evguenievich Vozgrin. A graduate of the History faculty of Leningrad State University, he passed all stages of the scientific career, from student to professor. A world-renowned scientist whose works are well known in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Spain, Estonia, etc., V. E. Vozgrin has developed problems of cultural, economic, political history of Scandinavia, military and political history of Russia.
