The publication describes the situation in the Crimea at the beginning of 1920 - the time of the retreat of the armies of General A. I. Denikin, coupled with the general collapse and demoralization of the Whites. The author focuses on the figure of one of the most famous White Guard commanders, General Ya.A. Slashchov, who managed to defend the peninsula from the onslaught of the Reds, thereby predetermining the continuation of anti-Bolshevik resistance in southern Russia until November 1920, when the defeated army of General P. Wrangel left to a foreign land. In addition, the author writes about such a little-known episode of the Civil War as «Orlovschina» - an uprising under the command of captain N. I. Orlov.
