The author attempts to analyze the international situation in the period of 1815-1856 and the impact Russian Empire had on it. It was immediately and indubitably apparent that Alexander I was one of the main participant in the Congress of Vienna and the Holy Alliance, which was created at the behest of Russian Emperor. Alexander I' successor continued to maintain leadership in Europe. Furthermore, the article specially devoted to the Eastern Question, which was fundamental part of Nicholas I' foreign policy.
