The article is devoted to the history of the Anglo-French and Indian War in Nova Scotia (Acadia), unknown in the Russian and incompletely studied in foreign historiography - “Father Le Loutre’s War” (1749-1755). Based on the materials of the newspaper “Sanktpeterburgskie vedomosti”, it is reported about the course of the war, its causes and methods of conducting of the war used by British and French colonists and Indians. The paper also explores the official position of England and France in regard to this war in North America. The military-strategic importance of Nova Scotia region in resolving more than a century of rivalry between England and France for the possession of the North American continent is also revealed. The article describes “Father Le Loutre’s War” as a stage leading to the “French and Indian War” in North America and the “Seven Years' War” in Europe.
