The article concerns the incident, occurred in Japan in 2002 and named corruption scandal on parliamentarian Suzuki Muneo’s work. Suzuki Muneo was a prominent politician in 1990s in Japan and he considerably influenced the Japanese government course towards Russia. He promoted the “gradual isles remove” conception and lobbied in the Parliament infrastructural projects for Kurile isles and direct humanitarian help for the people of southern Kurile isles. But he became the political opponent of the Koizumi Junichiro after 2001 and was suspected in corruption in 2002, that determined his political career.
