Nord Stream 2 is an economic project which aim is to build a gas pipeline along the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The contradiction and geopolitical importance of the project led to the split of western countries into supporters and opponents of its successful implementation. Certain supporters of the project are Germany and Austria, which benefit from the new gas pipeline from a commercial point of view. The governments of these states actively back the implementation of Nord Stream 2 on the world stage, but in connection with domestic political events in Russia, there are alarming signals related to the criticism of the project in the supporting countries, including the Bundestag.
