The article discusses the contribution of Yu.M. Osipov to the development of modern philosophy of economy. In the works of Yu.M. Osipov, published over the past thirty years, the idea of the metaphysical essence of the economy is consistently carried out. It is shown that the revival of the philosophy of economy today is associated with the task of criticizing economism. This criticism was started in the works of S.N. Bulgakov, but today it is still relevant. Today's economism acts primarily in the form of a cult of development and security.
