An analysis of the ways of settling the Kyrgyz-Uzbek conflict that occurred in the south of Kyrgyzstan in the city of Osh in 2010 will be considered in this article. Due to the fact that the Osh ethnic conflict took place under conditions of unstable political situation caused by the change of political power in the country, instability, the struggle of criminal and mafia structures for power and influence, considerable efforts were required to localize and resolve it: they were used as power / state mechanisms (imposition of a state of emergency, curfew, partial mobilization of the population, involvement of the military), and alternative methods of regulation (international organizations, volunteers who were involved in the distribution of humanitarian aid, and the elders of the Uzbek and Kyrgyz communities participated in the negotiations to stop the bloodshed.) In the post-conflict period the state implements measures to reduce inter-ethnic tension by changing legislation and the legal framework as a whole (Constitution, Constitutional the Law on Elections, the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on the State Language of the Kyrgyz Republic, etc.), concerned primarily with the political representative of minorities in public authorities; changes in the education and cultural policy are aimed to improving inter-ethnic relations and preventing conflicts.
